Datuk Sharifah Aini Passed Away At Age 61
I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging for quite a long time. I’ve been sick and busy with stuff which I can’t mention yet. Just thought I’d mention that I just heard the legendary veteran singer with the voice of gold, Datuk Sharifah Aini has passed away at 1.26 am earlier. She was hospitalized a few days ago, and just celebrated her 61st birthday on July 2nd.
It was a shocking news because I heard it after I was kind of glad that Germany is through to the semi final in the World Cup. Now I’m waiting for Brazil vs Colombia at 4 am. Here’s a breaking news article from The Star.
PETALING JAYA: Veteran singer Datuk Sharifah Aini Syed Jaafar has died of lung infection early Saturday.
Sharifah, fondly known as Kak Pah, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital here for lung infection on Tuesday.
According to a press statement, Sharifah Aini, who turned 61 on Wednesday was diagnosed with lung fibrosis, also known as interstitial lung disease two years ago.
According to Consulting Respiratory Physician Datuk Dr Zainudin Md Zain who was treating her, the condition is rare and causes hardening or scarring of the lungs.
Sharifah Aini first broke into the entertainment industry in 1969 after having won a talent show in Singapore the previous year.
She produced various hits over the years including Dekatlah Padaku, Bunga Tanjung and Mak Inang Melayu, a duet with the late Sudirman Haji Arshad and more.

It seems that this, including my previous two posts have been about death. I’m sorry! I know it’s depressing but there’s been a lot of topics that I couldn’t blog about because I’ve been sick, tired or busy.
Al-fatihah to Datuk Sharifah Aini aka Kak Pah
May she rest in peace.
How nice that she passed away during holy month of Ramadhan.
She was a great person with voice and heart of gold. I admire her.
